In an effort to minimize crowds and serve more households during SIP and beyond, Urban Village has partnered with WhatsGood to launch a virtual farmers market with Curbside Pickup running parallel to our Temescal Farmers Market.

3 Easy Steps:

1. Setup Your Account at www.sourcewhatsgood.com

2. Monday - Thursday: Fill your “shopping cart” with all your favorite Temescal Farmers Market groceries.

3. Sunday: Drive up to our Curbside Pickup Area, and we will load your groceries directly into your vehicle.

   Cars, Bicycles & Hand-carts welcome!

Helpful Tips:

• Time window: After placing your order, be sure to look for a follow-up email to select your preferred pickup time. Pickups are between 10 am & 1pm on Sundays, at the Temescal DMV on Claremont Ave, Oakland. Enter the back lot on CAVOUR STREET and follow the signs.

• Have your First and Last Name in big bold letters visible in your windshield. (Or we will ask you for it upon arrival)

• Have space in your trunk, or bring an empty box or cooler for our team to safely place your grocery bags into.

• Sign up for our spam-free email list to be the first to know important safety policy updates and when our next market location will launch Curbside Pickup. (Hint… Campbell & Castro Valley)

WHY: We see this supplemental online farmers market model as an important, long term protection for California’s hyper-local economy, our small family farmers’ livelihood and for our urban communities’ access to safe, traceable, fresh food, as the struggles around pandemics, intensifying fire seasons, and inclement weather rise.

WHEN: UVFM’s online store is NOT by subscription. Every Monday morning - thru - Thursday at 11pm, prior to the Sunday pickup date. Customers select their own choice of market goodies to build their own custom Village Box of groceries, Items may sell out quickly so it’s recommended to order early in the week. The web-store opens for orders every Monday morning and will remain open until sold out or by end of day Thursday (whichever comes first).  

HOW: UVFM’s teaming up with the SourceWhatsGood web/app allows you to conveniently shop online, while staying true to the mission of a Certified Farmers Market: buying “FARM DIRECT”. Customers can fill their virtual shopping carts each week from the same, highly vetted, local vendors physically found selling in UVFM’s certified Farmers Markets, using one streamlined account. On Sunday, you just walk, bike, or drive up and our team will load your custom orders right into your transportation. Online product availability will vary Just like in the physical market, we only offer California local and seasonally grown products from sellers currently attending our Markets in person.

UVFM is not a wholesaler or distributor. Everything you order through our WhatsGood marketplace is sourced from, and directly paid to, the vendors so that they continue to earn the maximum % on the dollar for their goods. All orders are hand packed the morning of Market Day. The customer service fee is to cover credit card processing, the digital platform, and staffing costs to provide this service.
